Condo Buying 101

Monday, June 20, 2011

So you've been considering purchasing one of the units of Las Olas Beach Club but you don't know the first thing about buying a condo, or a property for that matter.  You won't need to worry too much; these tips should get you started on the right foot.

When purchasing any kind of Las Olas condos, one of the first things you should start looking into is financing since the average person cannot afford to pay for a condo in cash.  It is strongly encouraged that you try and get pre-approved before moving forward, this will save you a tremendous amount of legwork and help you get a very good idea of what you can and cannot afford.

Chances are that if you're looking at a building like Las Olas Beach Club you've already done your homework and determined what it does and doesn't have.  If you haven't already done so, you should also familiarize yourself with the association.  The association, besides setting the rules of the building is also responsible for charging dues to condo residents.  Falling behind on these not only puts strain on your neighbors, it could cause you to be barred from using some of the amenities within the building so make sure to factor those into your budget.

These tips should provide a foundation to get started with condo buying.  Make sure to consult a Fort Lauderdale realtor as he or she can help you with any questions and making sure all the paperwork is taken care of.
